MAF Blood Drive: To the attention of the People at MAF

I just wanted to say “What an awesome way to start off the New Year with our first set of blood drives”. Once again, I would like to thank each and every one of you for the time and effort that everyone has invested in our blood drives which are held at the Michoud Assembly Facility. I wanted to let everyone know that at our last blood drives which were on February 7th & 8th, we registered 31 potential donors and we collected 31 units of blood on our goal of 25 on the first day. On the second day, we registered 41 potential donors and collected 38 units of blood on our goal of 25, thus collecting a total of 69 units of blood on our total goal of 50. We also had 18 FIRST time-ever donors who came out to donate for the first time. We exceeded our goals for both days. What an awesome two days at MAF!

I would also like to thank the donors who gave so unselfishly that others might live. They are truly “Lifesavers”! My hope is that they realize how far their gift goes towards replenishing our community’s blood supply and ultimately touching the lives of area patients and their families.

We were pleased with the willingness of those who took the time to share this life saving gift, which has helped save 207 patient lives and helped give back to the community and the hospitals.

We have enjoyed working with each and every one and look forward to our next blood drives on May 16th & May 17th.

On behalf of the Blood Center and myself, thanks for everything!

Sincerely,

Rose Lodrigues
