Founded in 1916, The Boeing Company is an American multinational aerospace and defense corporation.
Currently, Boeing is designing, developing and producing the core stage for America’s next-generation, human-rated rocket, the Space Launch System, (SLS) at the Michoud Assembly Facility.
SLS will provide the heavy-lift capability necessary to propel the next generation of explorers on entirely new missions throughout the solar system. From asteroids to Mars, SLS will be a key infrastructure that, along with the Orion spacecraft, allows NASA to send humans beyond Earth’s orbit for the first time since the Apollo Moon program.
Boeing is responsible for the cryogenic stages and avionics for SLS.
