Paper Showcasing a Multi-Sensor Approach for Near Real-Time Monitoring of Forest Disturbance Published in Remote Sensing of Environment

Pontus Olofsson (ST11) co-authored a paper titled Near real-time monitoring of tropical forest disturbance by fusion of Landsat, Sentinel-2, and Sentinel-1 data which has been accepted for publication in Remote Sensing of Environment. The paper showcases a method based on time series analysis of both optical and SAR data for achieving timely detection of tropical forest disturbance. The study was funded by Olofssonā€™s grants from the NASA Carbon Monitoring System and NASA SERVIR.
