SERVIR Representatives Participate in Latin American Remote Sensing Society Virtual Café Event

On 3/28/23, two representatives of the SERVIR Science Coordination Office, Betzy Hernandez and Emil Cherrington, participated in a virtual café event organized by the Latin American Society for Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Systems (SELPER, in Spanish). During the virtual café event, Betzy and Emil spoke about SERVIR’s activities in the region, including SERVIR’s ongoing activities in South America and the upcoming hub in Central America, among other topics. They also provided a short demonstration of environmental data visualizations related to activities that SERVIR has done in support of NASA’s joint statement with the Central American Integration System. The invitation to participate in the virtual café event followed SERVIR’s participation in SELPER activities in the past, which have been in the framework of the Committee on Earth Observing Satellites’ Working Group on Capacity Development and Data Democracy (CEOS WGCapD).
