IMPACT and Earth Science Branch members Manil Maskey, Brian Freitag, Aimee Barciauskas and the VEDA team kicked-off the project on March 31st with representatives from HQ, other NASA Centers, and supporting contractors. VEDA’s vision is to provide unified open source science cyberinfrastructure for data processing, visualization, exploration, and GIS capabilities (re-)using the ecosystem of tools and services with NASA data on the cloud. Specifically, VEDA will provide data systems capabilities to NASA's Earth Information System (EIS), Environmental change dashboard, Environmental Justice initiatives, and other Earth science directives. VEDA is anticipating several releases through 2022, with targeted audiences ranging in skill and experience.
