Public Release of the Multi-Mission Algorithm and Analysis Platform (MAAP)

In late October, NASA and ESA (the European Space Agency) publicly released the Multi-Mission Algorithm and Analysis Platform (MAAP), a revolutionary open-source science tool for analyzing Earth science data in the cloud. Interagency Implementation and Advanced Concepts Team (IMPACT) members Kaylin Bugbee (ST11), Aaron Kaulfus (ST11) and Aimee Barciauskas (Development Seed) met with ESA and HQ representatives virtually to demonstrate the latest release of the MAAP data system.  MSFC’s IMPACT has supported the development of the MAAP data system over the past two years. For the latest release, the MAAP data system supported large-scale product generation of the ICESat-2 Boreal Biomass Product and the Biomass Harmonization Activity.
