On 10/4/21, the HLS team within the Satellite Needs Working Group Project Office (SWNG-PO) began the archival processing of the HLS data products. The archive extends back to 2013 for Landsat and 2015 for Sentinel-2 and processing of these data is expected to complete in mid-to-late 2022. The addition of archival data within the HLS data holdings will allow for time series analysis of the land surface at 30-meter resolution, thereby improving the community’s ability to study agricultural health, land surface change and deformation, and impacts from natural disasters such as severe storms and floods.
