The American Meteorological Society held its Annual Meeting from Jan 28 - Feb 1, 2024, in Baltimore, Maryland. The meeting was attended by several SERVIR Science Coordination Office (SCO) members: Amanda Markert (Associate Lead of Weather and Climate Resilience), Reetwika Basu (SERVIR Economist), and Alqamah Sayeed (Air Quality Scientist). Amanda presented at an EW4ALL session overviewing SERVIR’s hazard work across its hubs in Asia. Several SERVIR Applied Science Team (AST) Investigators were also in attendance presenting on their weather, air quality, and flood forecasting efforts. Apart from presentations, SCO held meetings with its Air Quality & Health ASTs and several other organizations such as NOAA on the GEO Global Water Sustainability (GEOGloWS) initiative and the African Meteorological Society to discuss future opportunities.
