Dennis Gallagher (ST13) was contacted late in the effort by his Des Moines high school alma mater to encourage their NASA Challenge team and to answer questions in support of their preparation to submit an entry to a lunar NASA challenge competition. They were the first in Iowa to enter a NASA challenge, and to their credit, were selected out of some 100 teams for a next step interview. Mentoring has continued as they contend with their learning experience in their quest for one of 10 finalist spots and a trip to NASA’s Johnson Space Center for the final stage in this NASA challenge competition.
