Manil Maskey (ST11/IMPACT) was an invited speaker at the ESIP Winter Meeting session “Embracing Data Quality for AI-ready Open Data.” ESIP is a community of partner organizations and volunteers that works together to meet environmental data challenges and look for opportunities to expand, improve, and innovate across Earth science disciplines. Maskey presented on the “Role of Data for Foundation Model” where he emphasized how foundation models are more data-centric than model-centric.
