Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) is an international community standards organization focusing on developing and defining open standards for the geospatial community to allow interoperability between various software, and data services. It held its 126th member meeting in Huntsville, AL during 6/5-9/23, hosted by GeoHuntsville. Several IMPACT members have presented and participated in the meeting, including Manil Maskey (ST11) presented on NASA’s Visualization, Exploration, and Data Analysis (VEDA) project in the Open Science Submit, Ge Peng (UAH/IMPACT) on harmonizing quality measures in the Data Quality Domain Working Group session, and Rajat Shinde (UAH/IMPACT) on large-scale LiDAR point-cloud processing in the Point Cloud Domain Working Group session as well as on the Google Summer of Code (GSoC) with OSGeo student projects in the University Domain Working Group. This meeting provided an opportunity for IMPACT to demonstrate data systems capabilities and build community around standards that the projects have implemented.
