SERVIR SCO Representative Participates in Women’s Day Talk Organized by Latin American Society for Remote Sensing and Spatial information Systems (SELPER)

In commemoration of International Women’s Day on 3/8/23, Betzy Hernandez of the SERVIR Science Coordination Office (SCO) was invited to participate in a “virtual coffee” event organized by the Latin American Society for Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Systems (SELPER, in Spanish). The event was organized by SELPER’s Mexico chapter and featured other invited speakers from SELPER’s Colombia chapter and two universities in Mexico. T

he speakers were invited to talk about their geoscience career paths, and Hernandez spoke about her involvement with the SERVIR program since her days with the SERVIR Mesoamerica hub in 2009. Along with other topics, she also highlighted SERVIR’s work in integrating gender inclusion into the revised Service Planning Toolkit.
