The Visualization, Exploration, and Data Analysis (VEDA) Project Releases V0.6.0 Dashboard and Deployed a Jupyterhub Environment

On 2/9/23, the VEDA project released its latest Dashboard (v0.6.0) that included Welcome page improvements, a new environmental justice discovery, the ability to quickly revisit past analyses, and render multiple polygons when analyzing data. The release has also introduced the integration of the Analytics Platform, now accessible via the Dashboard when exploring data. This release is a major milestone crafted from stakeholder feedback and reviews. VEDA Dashboard continues to support NASA’s open science mission, with all documentation available on GitHub.

The goal of the VEDA Analytics Platform (AP) is to provide scientists the resources needed to develop and execute algorithms for geospatial data science and scalable computing, and to support open science by giving all users access to sufficient resources and tools to do science and replicate scientific results. As of February 2023, the VEDA AP, in collaboration with 2i2c, has deployed a JupyterHub environment to begin testing such a platform for users. VEDA has also started to integrate the analytics platform into the VEDA Dashboard so that users exploring Earth data can directly access an analytical environment.
