The Algorithm Publication Tool (APT) Team Delivers Google Doc and Word ATBD Templates for Scientist Use

The Algorithm Publication Tool (APT) has been built as a user interface for the public to find and access existing Algorithm Theoretical Basis Documents (ATBDs) and as a development interface for scientists to create ATBDs and for reviewers of ATBDs to interact with the authors. The tool is still in the final stages of development and plans for transitioning the tool to NASA Earth Science Data and Information Systems (ESDIS) are underway. The APT team has also recently made Google Document and Word templates matching the ATBD structure for scientists to use collaboratively with coauthors. The intention is to make it possible for teams to progress with ATBD development in a familiar authoring environment and yet still produce a document that is easily incorporated into APT once completed.

Recently delivered to the Investigation of Convective Updrafts (INCUS) mission team, the templates will also be made available soon on the APT web page (https://www.earthdata.nasa.gov/apt/).
