Satellite Needs Working Group (SNWG) Agency Interviews Nearing Completion

NASA (with NOAA and USGS) is leading a tri-agency assessment of Federal agency satellite Earth observation needs submitted through the 2022 SNWG survey. An important early step in the assessment process is meeting with each submitting agency to fully understand their satellite need and to discuss current and upcoming resources that help meet the need. About 100 discovery interviews will be held with over 100 scientists across NASA, NOAA, and USGS contributing subject matter expertise to the discussions. IMPACT team members Jenny Wood, Essence Raphael, John Troutman, Anita LeRoy, and Katrina Virts are supporting the interviews through scheduling and making records of the discussions. As of February 6, 2023, the interviews are more than 95% complete, which positions NASA well for the remainder of assessment activities. The SNWG-2022 assessment will wrap up by June 1, 2023.
