Tutorials Conducted at International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS) 2022

The Interagency Implementation and Advanced Concepts Team (IMPACT) co-organized two tutorials at the IGARSS 2022 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: (i) IMPACT team members Manil Maskey, Iksha Gurung, and Muthukumaran Ramasubramanian collaborated with researchers from the Jülich Supercomputing Centre to conduct a full-day, hands-on tutorial on End-to-End MachineLearning with High Performance and Cloud Computing. The tutorial covered theoretical concepts of machine learning and computing platforms, their application to machine learning on satellite imagery, optimization of the cost and resources, and deployment of machine learning models using a combination of high performance and cloud computing; (ii) IMPACT team members

Manil Maskey and Leo Thomas collaborated with the European Space Agency (ESA) and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (ESA) to conduct a full-day, hands-on tutorial on Using Open Data, Platform, and API from NASA-ESA-JAXA Earth Observation Dashboard. The primary goal of the tutorial was to educate Earth science researchers to work with thematically curated Earth science datasets from all three space agencies using simple APIs for analysis and visualization.
