SERVIR Amazonia Exchange Provides In-Person Opportunity to Present Accomplishments and Plan Next Steps

The SERVIR Amazonia Exchange took place in Cali, Colombia, at the at the Alliance of Bioversity International and International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) campus on 6/20-23/22.  Helen Parache presented on the SERVIR Service Planning Toolkit, led a discussion on needs for science support within the network, and participated in other discussions regarding capacity building and communications priorities.  Parache also met with the Alliance Bioversity CIAT Geospatial Information Technology (GIT) team for in-depth planning regarding tech transfer and service implementation of the four Applied Sciences Team services in their final year.

Representatives from all the SERVIR Amazonia consortium members, including Conservacion Amazonica (ACCA), EcoCiencia, SIG (Spatial Informatics Group), and Alliance Bioversity CIAT, as well as Katia Villanueva, Project Management Specialist at the Office of Environment and Sustainable Growth (ESG), USAID/Peru, presented their past accomplishments and objectives for the upcoming year. These presentations served as a jumping off point for work planning to start in September and service planning.

he first gathering of all SERVIR Amazonia consortium members since its launch in 2018, outcomes from this exchange include next steps for AST service implementation, a detailed capacity building plan for the network, a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) and Communications webinar in development for early August, starting points for service planning
