Public Announcement of NASA’s Satellite Needs Working Group (SNWG) 2020 Activities

Every two years, NASA assesses Federal agency needs for satellite Earth observation data that are submitted through the SNWG agency survey.  After detailed evaluation of the 2020 SNWG surveys, NASA proposed a suite of new activities to meet the needs of Federal agencies.

These activities, now announced via Earthdata, include producing new data products for vegetation and the dynamic planetary boundary layer, adding new air quality sensors to improve monitoring and forecasting, expanding U.S. Government access to NASA-evaluated commercial data, and collaborating with external agencies.  The SNWG Management Office at IMPACT, led by Pontus Olofsson, Joel Jocson, and  Katrina Virts, (ST11) will manage the implementation of each of the science activities.
