SERVIR Hubs Share Activities, Needs, Lessons Learned During Air Quality Exchange Hosted by SERVIR Science Coordination Office (SCO)

A SERVIR Air Quality Exchange was held 10/25-27/21 with a closing session on 11/1/21, as an internal information exchange on the regional status of air quality (AQ) activities, assessments of SERVIR’s regional capacity and regional needs, and a review of regional partners, programs and opportunities. SERVIR SCO Air Quality Lead Falguni Patadia led the exchange, with participants from across the SERVIR network providing their regional perspectives.  Amanda Markert and Tim Mayer (Regional Science Coordination Leads) and Jacob Schenthal and Meryl Kruskopf (Regional Science Associates) moderated discussions of current activities, and Emily Adams of the SERVIR SCO spoke on ‘Gender, Social Inclusion and Air Quality’. Invited speakers presented on topics related to AQ data and services and AQ management on the third day of the exchange. The objective of the exchange was to advance SERVIR network wide awareness on climate linkages, health impacts, air quality as an environment problem (including environmental justice), available NASA resources for air quality management, and to initiate discussions for a SERVIR Air Quality Working Group.
