SERVIR-MEKONG Hosts Virtual Symposium Event

SERVIR-Mekong, implemented by the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) in Bangkok, Thailand, hosted the virtual SERVIR-Mekong Symposium across five days from 10/5-20/21.  Dan Irwin, SERVIR Global Program Manager, Hans Guttman (Executive Director of ADPC) and Steve Olive (Regional Director, US Agency for International Development (USAID)-Regional Development Mission for Asia (RDMA)), gave the opening plenary addresses on 10/5/21. Panelists from NASA, USAID and the SERVIR Applied Sciences Team joined regional experts, private sector technology partners, representatives from academia, and international agencies like the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), in providing insights during the five sessions, which focused on topics of Climate Change; Floods & Water Resource Management; Droughts & Food Security; Land Cover, Land Use Change and Ecosystems; and Air Quality and Health.
