In the aftermath of laudatory Senior Review 2020 results, Hinode was approved to release a Request for Proposal for each of three science instruments to continue mission/science operations for the next four years. The four-year performance period also keeps pace with the Hinode international partners. Proposals were received from the Naval Research Laboratory, the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory and Lockheed Martin Space. Technical Evaluations have been completed for all three proposals. The proposal review team consisted of Steve Elrod (ST14), Sabrina Savage (ST13), Rebecca Parkins/RS60 (Logical Innovations, Inc.) and Rachael Damiani (RS60). Contract negotiations are expected to start soon and will be conducted by Nichole Crayto (PS51) and the extended contracts need to be in place for FY22.
