The National AI Research Resource (NAIRR) pilot program led by OSTP/NSF went live on 1/24/23. The NAIRR pilot is a first step towards realizing the administration’s vision for a shared research infrastructure that will strengthen and democratize access to critical resources necessary to power responsible AI discovery and innovation. Manil Maskey (ST11/IMPACT) represents NASA at the NAIRR Interagency Working Group. NASA’s initial contributions include AI training datasets, foundation model, and best practices.
