The Chandra X-ray Observatory Program conducted its Quarterly Review of mission status on 11/15/23 at the Chandra Operations Control Center in Burlington, MA. Several members of the Chandra team from MSFC attended in-person. The team reviewed talks on the overall program status, flight operations, spacecraft health, science instrument status, ground system status, public outreach and science community support, and science data system status. Overall, Chandra continues to perform near its maximum theoretical observation efficiency while providing invaluable resources to the scientific community and the public.
On 11/16/2023, the Chandra X-ray Observatory Program also conducted its Bi-annual Engineering Review at the Chandra Operations Control Center in Burlington, MA. Again, several MSFC team members attended in-person. The team reviewed in-depth talks on the health of each of the Observatory’s subsystems. The engineering team presented performance trends that show Chandra is in good health and can continue to produce unique, world-class science in the years ahead.
