Thematic Area Retrospective on Satellite Needs Working Group (SNWG) 2022 Assessment Completed

From late September 2022 to May 2023, NASA led a tri-agency assessment of 115 high-priority needs for satellite Earth observation data submitted through the 2022 SNWG survey. Over the summer, the SNWG Management Office (MO) at IMPACT has led a lesson learned retrospective that included a lesson learned survey, intensive internal discussion of success and pain points noted throughout the cycle, and retrospective discussions with participants from each of nine thematic areas as well as NOAA and USGS. The thematic area and program retrospectives wrapped up on August 18, and IMPACT has prepared a presentation summarizing the feedback received and proposing changes to improve the process and tools for the next 2024 assessment. This information will be presented and discussed with NASA HQ leadership for SNWG in the coming weeks.
