IMPACT Initiates Collaborative Data Science Student Project with Alabama A&M University

On 6/6/23, IMPACT initiated a one-year student data science collaboration focused on NASA Earth Science with the Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical (A&M) University (AAMU-RISE Foundation). The project leverages the strengths of both NASA’s Interagency Implementation and Advanced Concepts Team (IMPACT) and Alabama A&M University to develop advanced data analysis techniques, machine learning models, and visualization tools to address challenging science problems and improve operational efficiencies of data systems. Alabama A&M University is providing an undergraduate and a graduate student to work on the project. The support from Alabama A&M University will enable IMPACT to make progress in our project goals, while also promoting collaboration and outreach between NASA and Alabama A&M University, developing data science workforce, and addressing real world challenging problems together.
