Deployment of VEDA Data Services into MAAP Data Infrastructure

The Multi-Mission Algorithm and Analysis Platform (MAAP) data services team led by Brian Freitag (ST11) recently deployed the Visualization, Exploration, and Data Analysis (VEDA) data services infrastructure into the MAAP. The effort led by Aimee Barciauskas, Alex Mandel, Jamison French and Emile Tenezakis (all of Development Seed) is another step toward standardizing how Earth science users visualize, access, and analyze NASA’s Earth science data from NASA-managed platforms. These data services facilitate adding, discovering, and retrieving data to the MAAP and VEDA data catalogs. They are designed with science workflows and interoperability in mind. The interoperability of STAC allows for data to be accessed and visualized by NASA MAAP and our collaborators at the European Space Agency (ESA). The deployment also demonstrates the flexibility of the VEDA architecture and its ability to be rapidly deployed into existing infrastructure.
