SERVIR Science Coordination Office (SCO) Launches Southeast Asia Hub

On January 24th, Karen St. Germain, Director of NASA’s Earth Science Division, U.S. Ambassador to Thailand Robert F. Godec, ADPC Executive Director Hans Guttman, and Pakorn Apaphant, Executive Director of Thailand’s Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency launched SERVIR Southeast Asia - a collaboration between USAID and NASA – to help communities across Southeast Asia better manage and adapt to regional and transboundary climate related challenges. SERVIR Southeast Asia, led by the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center, is a geographical expansion of SERVIR Mekong which operated from 2014-2022. Nancy Searby, NASA Capacity Building Program Manager, Pete Epanchin, USAID Climate Adaptation Specialist, and Dan Irwin, Ashutosh Limaye, Tony Kim, Amanda Markert and Katie Walker of the SERVIR Science Coordination Office attended the event and participated in work planning discussions following the launch.
