Assembly and Test of the Solar Neutrino Detector

The solar neutrino detector (nuSol) was assembled at Wichita State University (WSU) and tested in the laboratory using ground level muons as the source of particles. Both the veto detector and neutrino detector showed appropriate responses to confirm their functionality. The next step will be to acquire a month of muon data for further analysis together with a follow-on exposure at the Fermi National Lab in summer. nuSol is a Phase-III NIAC project led by WSU and supported by personnel at South Dakota State University, JPL, Nanoavionics and MSFC.
