Marshall Earth Scientists Participate in 2022 NASA Precipitation Science Team Meeting

Sarah Bang, Dan Cecil, Timothy Lang, and Daniel Watters (ST11) attended and presented at the 2022 NASA Precipitation Science Team Meeting in Denver, Colorado during the week of 10/5/22. The week began with working group meetings – Cecil fielded questions and engaged in discussions about the Atmosphere Observing System (AOS) suborbital program and the Precipitation Measurement Mission Validation Network during a breakout session in the Particle Size Distribution Working Group meeting.  Watters discussed his recent findings in the Multi-Satellite Working Group meeting. Bang delivered a presentation on hail processes during an oral session on hydrometeors. Lang presented on a new project to develop and analyze geophysical retrievals from airborne microwave radiometers. All four had fruitful discussions of their recent work during the poster sessions, and discussed current and future research topics with formal and informal collaborators throughout the week.
