SERVIR Mekong Launches a New Gender Equality Monitoring Tool

On 8/26/22, the SERVIR Mekong hub launched a new Gender Equality Monitoring (GEM) platform with opening remarks provided by Dan Irwin (SERVIR/SCO), Hans Guttman (Executive Director, Asian Disaster Preparedness Center) and Todd Johnson (USAID). This platform is designed to allow stakeholders to access data that will enable them to identify gender gaps in multiple sectors at the sub-national level and understand dynamics that contribute to gender inequality. The launch of this platform reaffirms the commitment by multiple governments in the Lower Mekong region to promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment. It is one of the many steps SERVIR and NASA are taking to make geospatial technologies and professions more accessible and inclusive.

The new platform can be accessed at the following site: https://servir.adpc.net/tools/gender-equality-monitoring-gem-platform.
