Huntsville Amateur Radio HamFest Forum Speaker

Heidi Haviland (ST13) was invited to speak with amateur radio enthusiasts at the Huntsville Hamfest. This event was run by the Huntsville Amateur Radio Club (HARC) and the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) Southeastern Division and has been an annual event since 1954. The forum talks are an opportunity to highlight local science and technology experts and the intersection with the amateur radio hobby: https://hamfest.org/.

Haviland spoke about Planetary Science, upcoming Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) deliveries and in particular, two radio astronomy payloads called Radio wave Observations at the Lunar Surface of the photoelectron Sheath (ROLSES) and Lunar Surface Electromagnetics Experiment (LuSEE). She also discussed a mission concept called Farside Array for Radio Science Investigations of the Dark ages and Exoplanets (FARSIDE) for a 10 km 128 pairs of dipole antennas robotically deployed radio telescope on the lunar farside.
