Chandra’s Perseus Sonification release went viral after its release on 5/4/22. The sonification release was featured and appeared on several social media accounts as well as news/media outlets. Features include the Today Show (todayshow.com), WashingtonPost.com, USAToday.com, The Guardian.com, Vice.com, theAtlantic.com, ABC.net.au (Australia), newscientist.com, weather.com (Weather Channel), cnn.com – twice (including the Anderson Cooper Show), and NPR’s “Science Friday” and “Wait, Wait Don’t Tell Me”. Adding in search terms for the Perseus sonification, resulted in over 1200 articles; including CNN, The Today Show, USA Today, LA Times. In this scenario, the potential audience reached over 2 billion.
With the Perseus sonification going viral, there has been a social media resurgence following the initial posting in May 2022.
