Large Scale Data Transfer Team Presents Architecture to IMPACT’s Commercial SmallSat Data Acquisition (CSDA) and Multi-Mission Algorithm and Analysis Platform (MAAP)

Brian Freitag (IMPACT/ST11) in collaboration with the University of Alabama-Huntsville (UAH), and Indiana University’s Suresh Marru, presented an architecture and framework for transferring large files of data between NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA) on 5/4/22. The group has been actively working on a study with ESA to design and benchmark a transfer process that is scalable, cost efficient, and reproducible across NASA-ESA teams. CSDA and MAAP, two teams that could benefit from the results of this study, were the main audience members for the presentation. The transfer study will continue through FY22, with implementation of a transfer process starting June 2022.
