Advanced Telescope for high Energy Astrophysics (ATHENA) X-ray and Cryogenic Facility (XRCF) Mirror Module Calibration and Testing

On-site visit by Moog CSA Engineering occurred 5/3-5/22 for the operational health assessment of the Center of Curvature Optical Bench (CoCOB) hexapod.  Activities included visual inspections, power-on and execution of homing procedures to test the hexapod range, accuracy and resolution for all 6DOF positions.  This activity was completed prior to shipment of the Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) as an early risk-reduction identification of long-lead components necessary for the refurbishment.  Results were as expected with no anomalies observed.  The MGSE motion stages hardware and software will be utilized to accurately position the ATHENA Mirror Assembly Module (MAM) during the Mirror Assembly Module Demonstrator (MAMD) testing and subsequent calibration test campaigns.
