Hurricane Ida Support at MSFC

The Earth Science Disasters Program team members at MSFC have been actively supporting the preparation for and response to the landfall of Hurricane Ida in Louisiana over the weekend.  The event core team, led by Lori Schultz (ST11), is actively engaged with the production of Earth-observing satellite data products to support requests from Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), both nationally and regionally, as well as requests from state emergency managers, especially as the storm continues to move North and east in the coming days. Current products will support situational awareness related to flooding and pre- and post-imagery comparison with more work expected in the coming days to support damage assessment requests using high-res satellite imagery as it becomes available.
