SERVIR Participates in Group on Earth Observations (GEO) Virtual Symposium with Panel Speakers and Hosting of Gender and Social Inclusion Session

SERVIR was well-represented at the GEO Virtual Symposium, 6/21-24/21. A session on ‘Taking action on gender and social inclusion in GEO initiatives’​ was hosted by Emily Adams of the SERVIR Science Coordination Office, with panelist and participants from SERVIR-Eastern and Southern Africa, SERVIR-Mekong, SERVIR-Amazonia, and the SERVIR Applied Sciences Team and SERVIR Support Team.  Ms. Anastasia Wahome of the Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development (RCMRD) / SERVIR-Eastern and Southern Africa served as moderator for a Plenary Session on ‘Biodiversity, Ecosystems and Nature-based Solutions’. Additionally, SERVIR-West Africa, SERVIR-Eastern and Southern Africa, and SERVIR-Amazonia activities were represented in other session on topics of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in GEO, food security in Africa, and in the GEO Global Water Sustainability (GEOGloWS) session.
