Manil Maskey Served as an Invited Panelist at FEDGEODAY 2021

Manil Maskey (ST11) served as an invited panelist for the "Open, Standardized Data and Methodologies for Federal AI/ML Programs" as part of the FedGeoDay on 6/8/21.  FedGeoDay is an event devoted to "open geospatial ecosystems" (open source software, open/collaborative mapping, open science challenges and open engagements) that are used to initiate and grow capabilities across the U.S. federal government.  The panel discussed the federal agencies’ strategies for artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) with respect to open science and community standards. Maskey discussed challenges of operationalizing practical applications of AI/ML and reproducibility of AI/ML research.  This event brought many leaders from federal agencies involved in AI/ML activities to exchange knowledge.
