On 5/20/21, the Interagency Implementation and Advanced Concepts Team (IMPACT) hosted Navteca engineers, Shayna Skolnik and Ramon Ramirez-linan, who presented an overview of their company and their mission to create practical applications based on new and emerging technology, such as cloud, natural language processing (NLP), Amazon Alexa custom skills, GIS data visualization, and machine learning/artificial intelligence (ML/AI). The presentation also highlighted Navteca’s newest development of an AI-powered platform that combines NLP and ML approaches known as Similar Question Retrieval and Extractive Question Answering to create a hybrid Question and Answering platform with an insight engine for science.
