A paper led by Jupiter Cheng (U. of Georgia), co-authored by Christian Klimczak (U. of Georgia) and Caleb Fassett (ST13) entitled “Age relationships of large-scale troughs and impact basins on Vesta” was accepted for publication. The paper looks at the ages of Veneneia and Rheasilvia impact basin and compares them to large-scale faults seen near the asteroid Vesta’s equator. The ages that were determined are consistent with the troughs forming as a consequence of the impact basins, but are not a very stringent constraint on this hypothesis.
