Co-Convened Fair Dataset Quality Information Sessions at the International Data Week 2022

Ge Peng (IMPACT) co-convened and participated virtually in two sessions at the IDW 2022. One is an RDA 19th plenary session which was held on June 21, 2020, titled: Defining, managing, and reporting dataset quality in a multidisciplinary Open Data space. The other is a SciDataCon 2022 session held on Thursday June 23, 2022, titled: Enhancing Research Transparency and Trustworthiness by Making Dataset Quality Information Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable (FAIR). The sessions focused on exploring the global, across-disciplinary landscape of documenting and sharing quality information of individual datasets and how sharing can contribute to their trustworthiness and reuse.

Both sessions are organized through close collaboration among the following international organizations: Information Quality Cluster of the Earth Science Information Partners (ESIP IQC); Data Quality Interest Group of the Australian Research Data Commons; Evaluation and Quality Control team of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center; the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) Task Force on FAIR metrics and Data Quality; and Data Quality Domain Working Group of the Open Geospatial Consortium. (NASA is one of the key sponsors of ESIP. Peng is one of the co-chairs of the ESIP IQC.)
