Following on the science framework envisioned by the community during a Decadal workshop held in May 2021, the Heliophysics 2050: Measurement Techniques and Technologies Workshop was held on February 23-25, 2022 to focus on the implementation of the next 30 years of science objectives. The workshop facilitated community discussion targeting technological advancements needed to enable transformative, cross-disciplinary science by identifying technology and measurement gaps, technological investment opportunities, and mission enabling architecture. The virtual workshop included 10 panel discussion sessions and 2 poster sessions.
As a primary convener, Sabrina Savage co-chaired the scientific organizing committee, served as the primary interface to the virtual hosting institution, and co-led all session activities. Adam Kobelski served as the co-chair for the Remote Sensing – Radio & Microwaves session as well as a session rapporteur. David McKenzie served as an invited discussion facilitator for the Remote Sensing – Enabling Technologies session where he presented technology gaps and opportunities and then engaged in community discussion.
