SERVIR Science Coordination Office (SCO) and Applied Sciences Teams Participate in 2021 American Geophysical Union (AGU) Meeting

The SERVIR SCO and SERVIR Applied Sciences Teams convened 15 sessions (including a scientific workshop and Town Hall) during this year’s AGU Fall Meeting, and gave over 40 oral, poster, virtual or eLightning presentations during the hybrid (virtual and in-person) event held December 13-17, 2021, in New Orleans, Louisiana.

One highlight was the SERVIR Town Hall on ‘SERVIR’s Approach to Ensuring Sustainable Services in the Use of Earth Observations in Decision Making’, convened by SERVIR Chief Scientist Ashutosh Limaye and with Nancy Searby (Capacity Building Program Manager, NASA HQ), and SERVIR SCO Regional Science Coordination Leads Emily Adams and Tim Mayer and SERVIR Portfolio Manager Falguni Patadia (participating virtually) as panelists. The aim of this year’s SERVIR Town Hall was to present examples of use of SERVIR services across the network and prompt a dialogue of global practitioners and scientists, to discuss co-development strategies and successes in transitioning these innovative applied approaches for improved decision making.
