The Multi-Mission Algorithm and Analysis Platform (MAAP) Dashboard was Featured at the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26)

Laura Duncanson was a key speaker in the “Monitoring the Lungs of the World from Space” panel at COP26. The panel discussed tracking carbon emissions from deforestation rates from space, as well as, how much carbon is being drawn from the atmosphere from forest regrowth and tree planting. She is an associate professor at the University of Maryland, College Park, and is a MAAP user working group member who uses LIDAR data in her boreal biomass mapping research to track carbon emissions from deforestation. The biomass satellite datasets can be explored in the new MAAP dashboard which was publicly released in October 2021. The dashboard leverages IMPACT’s COVID dashboard/software framework and is designed to help users compare, validate and harmonize biomass products for policy applications including the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Global Stocktake.
