Manil Maskey of the Interagency Implementation and Advanced Concepts Team (IMPACT) and the Earth Science Branch virtually participated in the IEEE GRSS AdCom meeting during 7/9-11/21. As the chair of the Earth Science Informatics (ESI) Technical Committee (TC), Maskey provided information on various TC activities. He also discussed the progress made by the new working group on “High-performance and Disruptive Computing for Remote Sensing (HDCRS)” under the ESI TC.
During the meeting, the IMPACT machine learning team was recognized with the certificate of appreciation for organizing a Summer School on Scaling Machine Learning for Remote Sensing and more information about the event can be found here - https://impactunofficial.medium.com/machine-learning-summer-school-5cddd81cdd8f. Additionally, Maskey discussed strategic initiatives for better collaboration across TCs in coming years.
