Release of the Catalog of Archived Suborbital Earth Science Investigations (CASEI)

The Airborne Data Management Group (ADMG) is led by Deborah Smith (ST11) and located within the Interagency Implementation and Advanced Concepts Team.  ADMG has released the beta version of the Catalog of Archived Suborbital Earth Science Investigations (CASEI) (pronounced “kay-see”).  This highly-linked web-based user interface has been constructed through significant ADMG efforts to improve discovery of and access to NASA’s airborne and field campaign information and data.  The 2016 Satellite Needs Working Group (SNWG) survey identified the need for this type of knowledge center that provides users with easier and more effective access to airborne and field data. ADMG added needed contextual information into the CASEI database to provide users with flexible discovery that can lead to greater understanding of campaign, platform, and instrument details. Filters provide users with many different ways to search through the highly-interlinked information.  CASEI has been released with details for 42 of the currently identified airborne campaigns.  More will be added in the coming months.

A blog post further describes CASEI and contains access to this discovery tool. Read more at https://earthdata.nasa.gov/learn/articles/casei-impact-blog.
