The SNWG team finished two major efforts to assist HQ with completion of the SNWG Cycle 3 Assessment Phase. The SNWG Management Office completed the SNWG-2020 Cycle budget for FY23 through FY27 for the 9 potential solutions that will be submitted to Office of Management and Budget (OMB) as NASA’s proposed response to the 123 submitted agency needs. HQ included the budget alongside requests for sustaining products from the prior two SNWG cycles and the management office prepared the budgets for those as well. Additionally, HQ has included a separate request for OMB to authorize direct funding for the SNWG Management Office at IMPACT to manage the implementation of all of the current and future SNWG cycles solutions.
The SNWG team also completed the comprehensive presentation for OMB which was hailed as the most professional and well-organized set of slides the editors at NASA HQ had seen in a very long time. The second major effort was a last-minute request for assistance by HQ working on the 123 Final Reports that NASA sends back to the submitting agencies. The reports’ technical content, formatting, consistency, and professionalism received the IMPACT SNWG team’s dedicated attention and were completed ahead of the USGEO SNWG deadline for a response by 6/1/21.
