Alphonse Sterling (ST13) gave a virtual presentation to Boys and Girls clubs in Alabama. There were seven clubs on the call, consisting of 118 youngsters who were mostly in grades four and five. The talk was entitled: “Introducing… The Sun!! (With a guest disappearance by The Moon).” The presentation date was 5/19/21, one week before a lunar eclipse that was visible from Alabama early in the morning on 5/26/21. Sterling’s talk provided basic information on the Sun and explained how the Sun and Earth would make the Moon seem to disappear during the eclipse, with the presentation given in a fashion meant to be enjoyable for 4th and 5th graders.
