Organized NASA Science Mission Directorate Artificial Intelligence Workshop

Manil Maskey (ST11) organized the NASA Science Mission Directorate (SMD) Artificial Intelligence (AI) workshop as part of the SMD Strategic Data Management Working Group’s (SDMWG) AI initiatives.  The three-day workshop brought together a group of experts from both NASA and external partners including industry, academia, and other agencies to discuss AI research using NASA's science data and computation platforms, open science principles for AI, ethical AI, and applied AI across NASA science divisions.  Rahul Ramachandran (ST11) provided a keynote address on day two of the workshop and led the discussions on open science principles for AI.  The workshop also provided a venue to network with senior AI researchers and industry leaders who are world-renowned in the field of AI and interdisciplinary science.  Workshop report will be published at the end of June 2021.
