Inter-Agency Implementation and Advanced Concepts (IMPACT) Team member, Chelle Gentemann, co-authored a journal article entitled “Science Storms the Cloud”, which was published in AGU Advances on 5/5/21. The article describes the transition of data storage from traditional archive centers to open source cloud-based data science platforms. With an increasing amount of science data and advancements in specialized software tools, scientists can unlock new approaches for data-driven discovery. This shift in paradigm is expanding the science community, lowering the threshold for entry and increasing the opportunities for collaboration.
